Setup & integrations

Most of Cutroom needs zero setup.

Cutroom owns the credentials for transcription, AI, storage, and public APIs (YouTube, RSS). You just paste a URL or drop a file. Only one integration needs your own key today — and we're replacing that with one-click OAuth as fast as we can.

Zero setup

These work the moment you open Cutroom

4 input modes ship with Cutroom-owned credentials. You don't need an account anywhere — just paste, upload, or import.

Upload files

Ready

Drag-drop any video or audio file. Mac screen recordings (⌘+Shift+5), Discord call recordings, Loom downloads, locally-saved Zoom recordings, raw camera roll, anything.

YouTube

Ready

Paste a channel URL or up to 5 video URLs. Cutroom uses its own YouTube Data API key — you don't need one.

Works for any public YouTube channel. We extract audio with ytdl-core (pure Node, no external service), transcribe with Whisper, and feed the spoken voice into Brand DNA training.

Podcast RSS

Ready

Paste your show's RSS feed URL. Works with Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Substack, Transistor, Buzzsprout, Anchor, custom feeds.

If you only have an Apple Podcasts URL, search '<your show> RSS feed' — most podcast hosts expose the underlying feed URL on the show page.

Paste posts

Ready

Manual fallback. Paste 20–50 of your recent captions or hooks one card at a time. Use this when you don't have video archives but have a written voice.

One key required

Bring your own credentials

1 integration requires a per-user key today, until OAuth ships.

Fathom (Google Meet, Zoom, Teams)

Bring key

One Fathom integration covers all three meeting platforms because Fathom records across all of them. Fastest of the bootstrap modes — Fathom already transcribed, we skip Whisper entirely.

  1. 1

Sign up for Fathom and upgrade to Fathom Premium ($24/mo). API access is gated to Premium and higher.

  2. 2

Log in at fathom.video and click your profile picture → Settings.

  3. 3

In Settings, scroll to API Access. (If you don't see it, contact support@fathom.video — some accounts need it manually enabled.)

  4. 4

Click Add + → choose API Key (not OAuth App).

  5. 5

Name the key Cutroom. Choose Read meetings + Read transcripts permissions if asked. Generate.

  6. 6

Copy the key the moment it's shown — Fathom only shows it once.

  7. 7

Paste it into the Fathom tab on Cutroom's Brand DNA training page. Click Load my recent meetings → pick which calls to train on → Train.

We don't store the raw transcripts after training — only the extracted Brand DNA fingerprint. Your Fathom API key is held in the form for the session and (in the upcoming multi-user release) saved encrypted per-brand.

fathom.video → Settings → API Access

Coming soon

On deck

One-click OAuth connects. Each unlocks ongoing auto-import — connect once, Cutroom keeps pulling new content.

Fathom auto-import webhook

Soon

When this is live, your Fathom recordings auto-flow into Cutroom the moment they finish processing — no upload, no clicks. Just have the call, then sit back.

Build status: Cutroom infrastructure ready (FATHOM_WEBHOOK_SECRET stored). The receiving endpoint at /api/webhooks/fathom is on deck for Push 7. After it ships, you'll add one webhook in your Fathom settings and never think about ingestion again.

Instagram

Soon

One-click Connect Instagram. Pulls your last 30 captions automatically. No copy-paste.

Build status: pending Meta Graph API app review (1–2 week lead time on their side) OR shipping the Apify shortcut as a Pro-tier feature ($10/mo passthrough). Pro signups will surface a Connect Instagram button at workspace setup.

TikTok

Soon

Pull your recent TikToks for DNA training. Same pattern as Instagram: connect once, auto-imports.

LinkedIn

Soon

Pull your recent LinkedIn posts. Strongest signal for written-voice training if your brand lives on LinkedIn.

Train your Brand DNA first.

Pick whichever input mode is least friction for you. Cutroom won't generate a single cut until it understands what you sound like.
